On The Scene: G Herbo Swervo Tour

Earlier this week we attended the New York stop of G Herbo’s Swervo Tour.

Irving Plaza hosted G Herbo’s Swervo tour performance earlier this week. Tourmates, producer SouthSide, and Machine Entertainment Group label-mate Queen Key opened for G Herbo and helped warmed up the crowd. After dropping their collaborative project ‘Swervo’ earlier this summer, SouthSide and G Herbo have proven to be an unbeatable duo and even better tourmates. Herbo described ‘Swervo’ as his alter ego that celebrates life with party records, rather than Herbo’s traditional biographical storytelling style.

Following SouthSide and Queen Key’s performances, DJ Funk Flex took the stage to turn up the energy before Herbo’s set. Funk Flex opened by faking the crowd out with Gucci Gang before shouting Brooklyn out then playing multiple 6ix9ine records. Brooklyn was definitely present and went crazy as Flex took the mic and hyped up the crowd.

The air was filled with excitement and intoxicating aromas as fans anxiously awaited Herbo’s arrival. The entire audience bum rushed the stage in excitement when Herbo finally appeared. The stage was illuminated with a large “G Herbo” sign and as Herbo took the stage hundreds of iPhone flashlights lit up the venue. Herbo walked out to “Who Run It” with two bursts of smoke blasting into the air and the crowd turning up. Herbo’s energy was unmatched as he played classics like “Kill Shit” which, again, had the crowd going crazy.

The memorable night had many tastemakers, influencers and even other artists in attendance. Up-and-comer Coy Leray was vibing out in VIP along with many others. Overall the night lived up to everything Herbo promised the “Swervo” tour would be.
