The flat iron district mattress store Hästen seemed like an unusual venue for Patricia and Ru’el’s clothing line Designed By God. Inspirational, Positive, and sporty, this loving couple threw a successful fashion show with a purpose.
Ironically, just like the clothing line, God made everything in a Hästen bed! Their beds are filled with natural horsehair, cotton, wool, flax, pine, and springs for some clean sleeping! On Wednesday September 12th, Designed By God filled Hästens with family members clamoring to be of service to support Patricia and Ru’el. Soon after, curious attendees ran in from the rain and curled up on a bed with drinks, and strawberry shortcake in hand to watch the show. The line featured comfortable black and white casual tees, sweatshirts, hoodies, and varsity jackets with quotes like “Designed By God,” “Masterpiece Designed By God,” “My Favorite Stack Blessings Not Paper,” and “Matt 18:21-23.”
These minimum and simple designs are perfect canvases to place a profound message, while aiming to give a fashion forward sporty, option to the spiritual person. This unique New York Fashion Week Venue certainly left a lasting impression with everyone including “products used by those that know how they were created, yet made to remind those who forgot.”
