Last week we received an exclusive preview of Daniel Arsham’s ICC pop up shop.
Designed by Arsham’s firm Snarkitecture, the pop up was held in Soho and featured Arsham’s exclusive collection of merchandise inspired by “historic memorabilia of the International Champions Cup.” The pop up showcased hoodies, track pants, t-shirts, jerseys, soccer balls, scarves, and hats. We attended day one of the three-day-long launch event, hosted by Jason Sudeikis. On day one, at 10 am Jason Sudeikis announced the 2019 ICC lineup after which guests and attendees had the chance to check out the beautifully designed pop up space.
The space itself immersed one in International Championship culture immediately after entering. The announcement set up greeted guests as they entered followed by the first glimpse of some of the limited apparel including black and white long-sleeved tees with the ICC logo and black snapbacks and scarves. Room two held Arsham’s art installation showcasing his signature eroding method on a replica of “the soccer ball Drake presented at a 2017 ICC match.”The installation also included eroded shoes and soccer balls with crystal formations inside. Along with Arsham’s installations, the second room highlighted more of the pieces available in the collaboration including white hoodies, soccer balls, and jerseys. This collaboration was Arsham’s first time working with the ICC and is a must-see for both arts and sports fans.
