We’ve got backstage access at The Blonds’ hair and makeup space, gearing up for their NYFW FW’24 Fashion Show with Celebrity Hairstylist Lacy Redway, sponsored by TRESemmé.
TRESemmé partnered with The Blonds and Lacy Redway to create five unforgettable runway moments featuring avant-garde hair. “Hair is art, just like fashion. It’s such an important piece [when it comes to] showcasing our work,” says The Blonds. Each look, curated to complement the style it’s shown with, showcases a unique take on runway style inspired by Latino icons throughout the years. “We were able to use those references to create these gorgeous, avant-garde looks that showcase the creativity and heritage of the brand,” says Lacy Redway. We spoke more with Lacy to learn about her hair techniques and how she’s implemented weave tracks, predominantly used by Black women such as herself, to create these looks. “I think as a Black woman [knowing] how to do extensions has been a part of my upbringing,” she says. “What’s so great about my team is no matter if you’re Black or not, you [have to] have skills on all hair types and textures. Because that’s what we do on team Lacy Redway!”
