“Embedded within the fiber of Matiere is the belief that material leads design.”
The Matiere show took place in the Cadillac House. The show began in such an interesting way. Instead of having the models simply walk down the runway; it started by having 3 dancers model the clothes whilst dancing.
All three of them were wearing an Italian reflective bomber jacket with a tuck away hood. The performance accompanied with the music that was playing definitely set the tone for the collection that was about to walk in.
The casting of the men definitely complimented the collection as they all had intriguing looks and not your typical ‘model boy’ image. The collection was definitely modern but had a hint of futurism. The men who modeled definitely brought the clothes to life.
The collection started with an all-black look, an ended with an all-white look and in between had an array of pastel colors ranging from blue to pink. A notable arrangement.
3 of the most memorable looks were:
LOOK 1: “Italian viscose pullover woven with zip detail. Japanese melange interlock raglan jersey tee. Japanese ultra slub pant”
LOOK 5: “Crinkle nylon water resistant elongated jacket with hood and floral lining Modal micro terry tank with front zip pocket detail. Japanese cotton club 3/4 sleeve woven button down shirt with banded collar. Cotton sateen pant with front tech zip detail”
LOOK 9: “Japanese melange interlock jersey pullover hood with ouch pocket. Cotton floral print short with patch pockets”
In Matiere’s Instagram bio they describe their brand as one that is “inspiring luxury fabric with a modern ‘tech-lounge’ aesthetic.”
Without a doubt, that description comes through this ‘REFLECTIONS’ collection.
