On Monday, February 10th, IMG Supermodel and fashion icon, Maye Musk spoke on her new book “A Woman Makes a Plan”. During NYFW, Maye Musk leads the NYFW Talk “Silver is the New Blonde” at the Spring Studios Sunken Living Room.
Maye Musk has been a working model in the industry for 50 years and has lived an inspiring life. Maye’s modeling career began in South Africa when she was 15 years old. Breaking barriers in the modeling industry is something Maye began to do much later in her career. During “Silver is the New Blonde” conversation, Maye discussed many of the trials and tribulations of her modeling career. One of the stories Maye shared was about struggling to find work when her agency in New York wouldn’t release her from her contract. Shortly after putting her foot down and demanding to released from her contract, Maye found her self booking huge jobs and even making history by becoming Cover Girl’s oldest spokesmodel.
Outside of Maye’s modeling career, she has also had a full career as a practicing dietitian. From age 21 Maye juggled her modeling career, dietitian practice, and raising kids. Although she has written her memoir “A Woman Makes a Plan” at age 71, Maye shared “I’m only just beginning.”
