Area, the women’s RTW brand designed by Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk are once again showing as part of MADE Fashion Week this season. Their presentation is on Thursday, February 11th at The Standard Highline room. Beckett, who’s originally from Kentucky, worked at Calvin Klein for a year before entering the Masters program at Parsons, where she met Piotrek. Piotrek was born in Poland and raised in Holland, worked under Hannah MacGibbon at Chloe and Giles at Ungaro in Paris before moving to NYC to attend the Masters program at Parsons. Area is best known for its unique textile manipulation – they emboss patterns into fabrics using an industrial technique that they’ve modified to work on an array of materials – cotton, leather, jersey, etc.
Area offers two different collections:
o Capsule Collection unisex embossed cotton t-shirts, shorts, and oversized tanks, sold exclusively at Opening Ceremony
o Runway Collection – women’s RTW at a higher price point also incorporating unique textiles and fabrications, sold at Moda Operan
