It’s no secret that as time goes on, everything about our lives becomes more digital. Social media has been ablaze with opportunity since its origin, but its latest years have truly defined the world around us. As brands recognize the power of social and Gen-Z voices alike, it’s become more and more prevalent just how much weight these voices carry.
On the evening of October 29th, NowThis, the hub for social-first, entertainment-focused, and series-based digital content, announced (and celebrated!) its newly unveiled editorial vision and the introduction of its Advisory Board. The site brought on Michael Valentino, a former exec for Fallen Media and MTV, as Editor in Chief.
“NowThis understands that Gen Z is leading the creator economy and wants to take it one step further,” Valentino said, in an exclusive interview with Deadline. “We won’t just be working with creators, we’ll be developing them. We’ll do more than just keep up with our audience’s viewing habits, we’ll help shape them. It’s the same bite-sized content our followers are used to, with clarified and curated verticals. I’m beyond excited to share some of the incredible things we already have in the works.”
Known for its entertaining digital content, NowThis took the opportunity to highlight its commitment to producing innovative, series-based programming while ushering in a new era of collaboration and leadership through its Advisory Board in the greatest way possible: with a party filled with an icons, fantastic drinks, and rubber ducks.
Attendees enjoyed an eclectic atmosphere at the speakeasy-style venue, complete with NowThis’ signature whimsical flair.
