Noah Kahan, a Vermont up and coming artist, played some of his hits from his album on July 31, 2017 at The Standard Hotel Penthouse.
Opening for him was Juke Ross, a Guyanese signer who performed some tracks from his album like Colour Me.
The night began with guests networking and mingling. The artists would later perform in the center of the large front room that the elevator let up to. The crowd was extremely diverse in age.
Annie O’s Music Series has featured artists such as Beau, Au Revoir Simone, Rodriguez, Lo-Fang, Moby, Vicktor Taiwo and the Prettiots. Kahan and Ross now join that esteemed list and we feel extremely lucky that we got to see them live in such an intimate setting.
From the audience, there was talk of the lavish penthouse suite and the view from it. Kahan even made a joke about how he had a similar view from the Four Seasons he was staying at. Kahan went in to perform some of his hits like “Hold it Down” and his biggest hit to date “Young Blood.”
Kahan’s sound is very acoustic and laid back, so if anyone enjoys a nice Indie artist with a message this is someone to listen to. Look out for him in the next couple of years. The artist ended the show by thanking everyone who came out to see him as the red and blue lights shining on him casted a purple shadow. Guests then headed to the outdoor terrace and continued chatting or left to finish out their night.
