Spooky season is officially here and that means the Halloween festivities have also begun. Tucked away at the King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas lies Nights of The Jack — an interactive family friendly Halloween experience. Keywords family friendly so no need to worry about having to run around and dodge people with chainsaws chasing you. Instead picture your usual pumpkin patch vibes only better and with a trail illuminated by hundreds of carved jack o’lanterns. If you’re just looking for something chill this Halloween season but still cute and Instagram worthy this is definitely the place.

This year Nights of The Jack has partnered with Nickelodeon to step things up and feature a Sponge-bob Squarepants installation. If you have kids in the family bring them along so they can check out Bikini Bottom in real life. Everyone’s favorite characters Sponge-bob, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs are all included with the installation.
Yummy food trucks are also available along with a “Spookeasy Bar” for the adults to enjoy some cocktails while they roam around the ranch. Halloween enthusiast Lance Bass from NSYNC was at the VIP opening last week. “My company Bubbletap Trailer does the bar here so we get to keep everyone refreshed and it’s gonna be fun,” said Bass. He is known for celebrating Halloween in big ways and having amazing costumes so his involvement with Nights of The Jack is no surprise.
Other guests at the Nights of The Jack opening included Tori Spelling, Brody Jenner, This Is Us Star Mackenzie Hancsicsak, and Disney Channel’s Raini Rodriguez and her brother Rico Rodriguez from ABC’s Modern Family. I got a chance to speak with them about their favorite Halloween movies and what they do to get ready. “We started decorating September 9th so we’ve been ready for a while,” said Raini Rodriguez. The siblings don’t take Halloween lightly and honestly I love that because neither do I.
