This week we have new heaters from NASAYA, Ethyr, Bleu Clair, and more.
NASAYA – RUMMELSBURG [FOREIGN FAMILY COLLECTIVE]
Inspired by an eclectic upbringing in Reunion Island, producer, and multi-instrumentalist NASAYA is a versatile electronic crossover artist. At the heels of his collaborative PIRLAMPO EP with MARO, a tour as direct support for Ford’s The Color of Nothing tour, and his recent single “CIEL,” he returns with his technically-intricate single “RUMMELSBURG.” A departure from the pop-centric sound he orchestrated on PIRLAMPO, “RUMMELSBURG” is an experimental electronic treat marked by nimble breakbeats, chopped vocal samples, and complex polyrhythms designed for sophisticated dancefloors. A mathematical composition with an accessible edge, “RUMMELSBURG” is the second single taken from his impending RÊVES EP and arrives just ahead of his upcoming tour as support for ODESZA on their Last Goodbye tour.
ETHYR – SAFAR [INDO WAREHOUSE]
Fresh off introducing new label mainstay Kunal Merchant with his debut solo record, “Anokha,” rising South Asian label Indo Warehouse presents the latest addition to their roster: Ethyr. Hailing from New Jersey and flaunting Punjabi roots, the fresh, new artist makes a poignant entrance with “Safar,” a slick fusion of tech and tribal house sprinkled with the trademark Indo Warehouse vocal flair. Alongside the forthcoming release announcement, Indo Warehouse is pleased to share the exciting details about the next iteration of their label showcase series: Indo Warehouse x SANYFW 2022.
Divij Raj Singh – alias Ethyr’s – “Safar” is an excellent pre-cursor to Indo Warehouse’s upcoming party. The rising young artist launched his career by crafting remixes and unique edits of popular South Asian tracks and has worked his way up to releasing his own originals. With “Safar” he introduces his forward-thinking artistic vision that centers on expansive textures and alluring percussive elements. With his productions, his sole goal is to invoke a feeling of freedom, on and off the dance floor. Don’t miss the chance to experience Ethyr – along with Kahani and Kunal Merchant – at Indo Warehouse x SANYFW 2022.
BLEU CLAIR – SAND DUNES
Few artists in the EDM space are currently making waves as big as Bleu Clair. Through collaborations with dance music titans, including Martin Garrix, Matroda, AC Slater, and more, the Indonesian native has quickly climbed the ranks as one of house music’s most promising artists. Boasting a recent and fruitful string of live shows, Beatport chart-topping singles, millions of streams across all DSPs, and continuous support from industry giants (Guetta, Tiesto, Garrix, etc), Bleu Clair continues to expand his diverse discography with a new single, “Sand Dunes.” Released independently, “Sand Dunes” blends fast-paced tech sensibilities together with the exotic sonic styles of the ancient Middle East, touched on through the use of kamanjas and feminine vocal chants. Without compromise, a signature inclusion of old-school house elements is unmistakably pronounced, paying tribute to the 90’s golden era of this genre.
THE INDIIGO CHILD – SAY IT’S ALRIGHT
Marking his sophomore original production of 2022, burgeoning talent The Indiigo Child returns to the release radar with his latest sonic endeavor, ‘Say It’s Alright,’ featuring vocals from Lynett Nayade. The new offering switches gears stylistically, with The Indiigo Child’s newfound house production sensibilities at the forefront. The four-on-the-floor tune begins with a pulsating beat, providing a heady touch that is then maintained throughout its entirety. Driven towards a classic house sound infused with heavy basslines, the energetic opus serves a catchy rhythm and atmospheric touch. Building a propelling ambiance, Lynett Nayade’s smooth vocals pair flawlessly alongside The Indiigo Child’s enthralling production with hard kicks and an irresistible groove. With a vocal cut expressing a sense of yearning and softness, ‘Say It’s Alright’ takes listeners into a palpably raw, lush soundscape.
BOOGIE BELGIQUE – WONDER [LE PLAN RECORDINGS]
“Wonder” the 3rd single from Boogie Belgique‘s forthcoming album “Machine”, is a joyful yet nostalgic nod to their roots. In line with fan favorites like Goodnight Moon and Forever & Ever, this modern melancholic Crooner, inspired by the 1909 Harold Orlob hit I Wonder Who’s Kissing You Now, mixes modern punchy beats with the best of the swing and big band era. The track’s lyrical content and emotional throughline are steeped with longing, both in a desire for bygone eras, and its depiction of a person wondering about where life has taken their former lover. Even the track’s call and response between the line I wonder who’s kissing you now and the horn/string sections that answer suggest a conversation between two long-separated parties. With chopped horn lines, a walking bassline, and a pumping four-on-the-floor drum groove, the listener instantly steps out of a time machine into the familiar universe of this Boogie Belgique classic in the making.
LCAW – GHOST IN TOWN EP
Having teased us with several infectious offerings including ‘Waves’ and ‘Ghost’, German music producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist LCAW finally shares his highly-anticipated 5-track sophomore EP ‘Ghost In Town’. Setting the tone for the 5-track collection, the ‘Ghost in Town’ EP kicks off with ‘Waves’, a track inspired by the German North Sea. The highlight track of the EP, ‘Heart of Glass’ featuring London’s Millie Turner, follows; a sprightly opus filled with deep and vibrant textures that thrill and relax in equal measure. Taking the focal point, Turner’s airy vocals are the perfect pairing for the entrancing production. The intoxicating cut boasts a warm and shimmering sound that serves a transmittable fire through the ears, transporting listeners to a euphoric soundscape.
“Ghost” featuring Tailor continues the EP’s cinematic ambiance, reimagining the sounds of the legendary SH101, which was famously used by notable producers including Aphex Twin, The Chemical Brothers, and Boards of Canada. The fourth track, ‘Momo’ is a captivating cup infused with positive, feel-good energy. ‘After 4’ rounds out the extended player, engulfing the eardrums with rapturous melodies and a dreamy web of synth intricacies that ebb and flow between one another. From start to finish, LCAW delivers a blazingly dynamic collection, highlighting his beautifully fresh and absorbing sonic direction.
