Netflix’s The Recruit returns for its second season, expanding its global scope while introducing new threats and alliances that test CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) like never before.
Opening in Ostrava, Czech Republic, the new season quickly shifts to South Korea, where Owen finds himself entangled in a complex intelligence landscape. While navigating the country’s high-stakes spy trade, he must also confront a more insidious danger—one that may be coming from within his own agency.

Despite the shift in scenery, Owen remains locked in a relentless battle to safeguard his reputation and prove his worth, a task made all the more difficult by the chaos left in the wake of his first year. This time, survival depends not only on his legal expertise but also on his continuous ability to adapt to the ruthless world of espionage.
His latest challenge comes in the form of Jang Kyun, a highly skilled National Intelligence Service (NIS) officer played by Teo Yoo. Their dynamic is defined by a blend of rivalry, respect, and tactical maneuvering. As Centineo explains it, “Owen’s constantly trying to data collect and learn while he’s going through this world… so he’s absolutely stealing moves from Jang Kyun, who’s an extremely cunning, very clever, experienced NIS officer.”

For Yoo, joining the cast meant bringing a new layer of intensity to the series. Speaking about his character’s motivations, he shares, “I live and die for what I believe in and who I love… I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s kind of a brotherhood type of experience in the end.” His character’s presence adds further intrigue, challenging Owen’s instincts and forcing him to rethink his approach to both law and survival.
