NBC hit shows “The Good Place” and “Superstore” return this September for more laughs.

“The Good Place” begins its final season this fall with actress D’Arcy Carden continuing to explore her character Janet’s diverse emotional range. Carden’s onscreen talent is no surprise; the Danville, California native received a 2018 Gold Derby TV Award for Best Comedy Supporting Actress for her turn as Janet, and Carden’s standout comedic role on HBO’s hit dark comedy “Barry” is a fan favorite.

“I have such a small part [on “Barry”] that I can brag about it,” Carden joked. She too is excited for “The Good Place,” although like most fans, the anticipation for the final season is bittersweet.

“Superstore” kicks off season five and star Lauren Ash who plays Dina teases more on-screen discussions of real-life issues. “You want to do things that are based in reality and in the world we live in in an authentic way,” Ash said at the NBC Summer Mixer at the Rainbow Room. “I love doing something that is fun but also creatively fulfilling.”

Just like audiences, Ash loves her character Dina, assistant manager at Cloud9, but finds herself drawn to the character of Glenn, played by Matt McKinney. “Glenn is just one of my favorite humans,” Ash gushed.

Looking towards the new season, the ensemble cast will continue to grow deeper. “It’s less of the politics of the store and more with the inner relations with each other,” she said.

The new seasons of “The Good Place” and “Superstore” will only add to fans’ love of the shows. Let the countdown to fall begin!

“Superstore” premieres Thursday, September 26th at 8pm, and “The Good Place” at 9pm.
