On Monday June 20th,  Netflix stars and Industry staples gathered as the Museum of Moving Image honored Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos and Late Night host Seth Meyers.

The lovely tribute took place at the St. Regis Hotel in New York and welcomed many guests. Friends and family gathered to honor the two along with House of Card’s Michael Kelly, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Carol Kane, Orange is the New Black’s Yael Stone and Lea De Laria and Ashton Kutcher. Each year the Museum of Moving Image pays tribute to industry leaders. The Museum of Moving Image maintains the largest collection of moving relics and screens more than 500 films each year. The Funds raised from the tribute go towards the Museum’s education programs affecting 50,000 students and teachers. We caught up with some honored guests as well Ted Sarandos himself.

Can you tell us about your new show on Netflix and a little about your character?

The show is called Handsome and my character is handsome and it’s kind of like Columbo. It’s a mystery movie, you find out who the murderer is right up top and you watch me figure it out.

How does it feel to be here tonight honoring Ted and Seth?

I love Ted and I love Seth too. I think Seth has finally found his voice on the show, it’s very exciting.

Yael Stone

How are you liking this new season of Orange is the New Black ?

We finished filming a little under a year ago so it’s been a long time, I haven’t finished watching the season, I’m only on episode 2 which I know is lame and I know I should be further along. I like to take it slow because I can’t process everything because you’re watching it and you’re like watching it as a show and watching it as a friend and watching it like ‘Oh how did they edit the script together’ and what does it look like. It’s a lot to process so I try and go slow.

What was your favorite moment of the season?

I’m having a good time just watching Lorna lose her bananas at the moment. She is making me laugh out loud.

How did you feel your character grew this season?

I feel like there’s something really beautiful in someone’s unraveling and it’s a great thing to play. Luckily with Lorna, she’s often unraveling.

Ted Sarandos

What we did in January was turn on 130 countries that didn’t have access to Netflix, it’s very much an international product with local payment options, in some cases local language options. We’re in the early stages of it.

How does it feel to be honored tonight?

Very exciting, the museum is an awesome place for film lovers for t.v. lovers, for students. I love that it’s in Astoria right across the street from the Tony Bennet school and it’s on the lot where we film Orange is the New Black, so we’ve got a lot of great connections to the museum.

What’s your favorite show on Netflix right now? Top 5?

These are my babies; I can’t pick one. We’re very excited Orange is the New Black started its 4th season, a bunch of critics are saying it’s the best season of the show. We just launched a new season of Bloodline which I am an enormous fan of the show . The Chelsea Handler show is doing really great and coming together really beautifully. It depends on what your mood is.
