Following the release of their new flagship phone the Motorola Z2 Force, Motorola held a party on July 25th to celebrate the announcement.
Motorola, the brand that brought us the v60, the Razr, and one of the original Driods has been a stalwart of the cell phone industry for decades and they were eager to show off what they had next in the crowded mobile market. I must admit, what Motorola showed off was very impressive. Tucked away in the West Village venue, Industria, guests were treated to multiple brightly lit rooms showing off both the best of Motorola’s new products, as well a full scale party including throwback Hip-Hop and R n’B spun by Director/Designer/DJ Vashtie.
The Z2 Force is the latest flagship device from Motorola and features a 5.5 inch shatterproof screen, the fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor available, Android 7.1 Nougat, and most impressively the Moto Modz ecosystem. On full display during the event Moto Modz are just that, modifications that you can magically attach to the back of the phone. They include, a JBL speaker, a Hasselblad digital camera, the moto 360′ camera, moto gamepad and best of all the moto instal-share projector. Moto Modz can easily transform the phone into other useful devices for so many occasions. If you want to create amazing imagery or your own 360 virtual reality video, snap on the Moto 360. If you’re a gamer, snap on the gamepad, and if you want to watch Netflix with a group or simply share the app you’re using, snap on the projector and boom you’ve got a projector in your pocket. All of these features were available to test in unique settings that matched the themes of each mod. The mostshock inducing display was Motorola showcasing the Z2 Force’s shatterproof screen. In a section complete with a brick floor, tile floor, and a wood floor, they encouraged guests to drop the phone face down and sure enough after throwing that phone down 5 or 6 times, the screen never even had a scratch. As an iPhone user, I can admit that you can’t say the same for the iPhone.
As Motorola aims to recapture the market in the mobile device landscape, they’ve set a fun tone and have given consumers the ability to creatively accessorize their phones. The Motorola Z2 Force will be available from all 4 major US carriers on August 10th for either $750 outright or the standard monthly payment plan options.
