On Thursday, January 23 at the Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood, CA, Morrison Hotel Gallery, the world’s leading brand in fine art music photography and Equinox, the global luxury fitness brand joined together to celebrate Grammy’s week and the history of hip hop.
Morrison Hotel Gallery is a powerhouse in the world of music photography, representing over 125 of the world’s finest music photographers and their archives. Their impressive collection includes jazz, blues, and rock photography, spanning several generations, all the way through to contemporary music artists. They also have a collection of iconic photographs in the world of sports and celebrities, in addition to a major online presence, featuring over 100,000 images.
Equinox, who partnered who MHG on the party of the night was founded in 1991 based on the idea that fitness can empower a life well-lived and currently operates over 100 full-service luxury fitness clubs, in cities like Miami, New York, LA, San Francisco, London, Toronto, and Vancouver. In July of 2010, Equinox unveiled Equinox Hotels, and in 2020 they were recognized as one of the Best Employers for Diversity by Forbes.
The exuberant audience was packed with guests including Joey Kramer from Aerosmith, Ian Ziering from Beverly Hills 90210, and Kelvin Brown from This Is Us. They were treated to a performance from Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Daryl ‘DMC’ McDaniels of Run DMC, followed by a special performance from Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Kelis. As if that wasn’t enough, the evening also featured a performance by famed choreographer, Nick Kenkel, known for his stage and video work for Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, and Madonna.
The evening was an ode to the history of hip-hop, and a wonderful celebration of the genre’s music and dance.
