It’s a Wednesday night in July, but the room’s atmosphere reads as a Friday night that is just getting started.
Soho House is filled to the brim with guest, who are patiently waiting for Morgan Saint to take the stage. After guest descended down a red-lit sign above that reads “On Air” and a flight of stairs, they enter a foggy room that is laid out with an intimate stage set up.
After some time soaking in the surroundings, the fog is broken up with a loud clashing of drums and Morgan Saint enters the room. Audience members immediately start a light sway to the sound of her ethereal voice. She opens with a well-known track “You”, the track, filled with light and harmonious bells and snaps accompanied by her slow moving and alluring voice casted an aura of bliss that stayed over the crowd all the way up until the end of the night.
Morgan’s performance sets her apart as the queen of “moody pop” as she sways calmly along to her own lyrics ‘ “I better chase this ghost before it leaves me, I can feel your warmth when my eyes go into hiding.”
The night moved into tracks from her hit EP, 17 Hero, while songs like ‘Just Friends’ and ‘New Regimes’ allowed Morgan’s dark and angelic vocals to flutter and take over the room. After the flashing lights subdued and the final song came to a close, the audience cheered for more, a clear indicator that Morgan Saint’s reign is just getting started.
