Montclair Film continues its virtual cinema offerings following the conclusion of the Montclair Film Festival (MFF).
Partnered with Montclair State University and funding from the Kessler Foundation, Montclair Film and the Montclair Art Museum look ahead to the launch of the 2020 ReelAbilities Film Festival.
“This event is the largest festival in the U.S. dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories, and artistic expression of people with different disabilities,” the program states.
The festival kicks off on Montclair Film’s Virtual Cinema platform through November 1st. Films include Don’t Foil My Plans, a documentary on Montclair-based artist Justin Canha with autism before his 25th birthday; short film Moment to Moment, centered on a husband and wife navigating an Alzheimer’s diagnosis; filmmaker Jerry Rothwell’s The Reason I Jump, which explores neurodiversity in five children on the autism spectrum; and Ride the Wave, the real-life story of different-abled surfer Scott Chesney.
Each film will be followed by pre-recorded Q&As with the respective directors and subjects. Tickets are available from Montclair Film.
