Jaeden Martell’s new film “The True Adventures of Wolfboy” is rewriting the rules of what the typical coming of age film looks like, showcasing themes of self-acceptance and embracing the person who you are despite what society thinks.
The film follows 13-year-old Paul, whose life has been less than kind to who suffers from a condition called hypertrichosis, which causes him to have excessive hair growth all over his face and body. Tormented by kids around him and the constant uncertainty of the whereabouts of his mom who left him as an infant, Paul sets out on a journey to find his mom, and in a sense, find himself as well.
Jaeden Martell’s incredible presence portrays Paul as a beautifully layered character in a performance that does not disappoint. We had the opportunity to sit down with Jaeden and talk all about the new film, and all about his process behind getting into character for this role. Jaeden talks about how the makeup process allowed him to see things the way his character saw them, and truly understand the things that he went through while walking down the street, and the challenges that he faced working on this project. The film is available On Demand & Digital Friday, October 30.
