Modify: The Hair Art Studio in South Philly hosted a night art show Thursday evening.
The event showcased photography from artists Niko Paleologus and Andrew Piccone. Modify has held previous art shows at the studio but this was the first show two feature work from two artists.
Paleologus, a Philadelphia based photographer, implements bright colors in his photography and uses artistic elements like smoke and makeup reminiscent of sugar skulls. He does not use Photoshop on his designs. Most of his work is portrait photography. Paleologus’ work can be viewed on his Instagram account Pompadourstudios.
Philly-based photographer Piccone focuses on portrait photography for events, weddings, and music events. His work has been in Rolling Stone, NPR, MTV Online, and more. He blogs about his work and samples can be viewed on his website.
The photographs hung in the center of the studio from a modern chain fixture. Guests admired the work and snacked on complementary refreshments, wine, and Lionshead beer. All works were available for purchase for between $30 and $60.
