The new series unfolds in a world where the rules are written in blood, power is currency, and family is the only thing more powerful than fear.ย
When asked what unspoken words between Conrad and Eddie Harrigan could change everything if finally said aloud, Pierce Brosnan and Anson Boon shared the same answer: “I love you.”
But, unsurprisingly, thatโs not the path MOBLAND takes for the on-screen grandfather-grandson duo.

Tensions run high when power is at stake, and in the new Paramount+ series poised to redefine the crime drama genre, the battle between two warring familiesโthe Harrigans and the Stevensonsโthreatens to turn the city of London into a chessboard where every move could be fatal. Executive produced by Guy Ritchie, the show marks his first TV series for Paramount+, created and written by Ronan Bennett (Top Boy and The Day of the Jackal).
Anchored by a powerhouse cast led by Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and more, MOBLAND gives twisted developments surrounding family, loyalty, and the cost of survival in a gangland where trust is a dangerous commodity.

At the heart of the series’ central conflict is Eddie Harrigan (Anson Boon), Conrad Harrigan’s (Pierce Brosnan) volatile and rebellious grandson. Their dynamic is tense, to say the least, as Eddieโs reckless ambition threatens to dismantle everything Conrad has built.

Brosnan described the patriarch of the Harrigan Irish crime family as a man โnot of this timeโ. โHeโs of an ancient time, somewhatโฆ I saw him as a kind of pig farmer, a brutal, cunning, charming, obnoxious man whom I love.โ
Conradโs right hand, Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) is the man who thrives in the chaos, a โfixerโ with a deadly reputation. His world is ruled and shaped by those who wield power behind closed doors, Conrad being the man behind the curtain in this case. Harry knows better than most that the line between ally and enemy is razor-thin, and in a landscape where betrayals are around every turn, his ability to keep the peace is both a gift and a curse.ย ย ย

Do not be mistaken- MOBLAND isnโt simply a tale of power won through violence. The women of this world, too, command their own kind of influence with precision and strategy, often more dangerous than brute force.
Helen Mirrenโs Maeve Harrigan, the family matriarch, is the real force behind the throne. As Brosnan described his characterโs relationship with her, โHeโs guided by Maeve and he knows that, and he allows himself to be manipulated by her because he needs her. He loves her.โย

Bella Harrigan (Lara Pulver), struggling with the weight of her past and the constraints of her present, must navigate her own path within the family. Pulver shared, โInitially, I think what was required of (Bella) was to be seen and not heard, but sheโs finding that increasingly hard…and ineffective. She’s lived this sort of detached existence but reaped the rewards of being a Harrigan…and Bella just gets a big wake-up call.โย

While Seraphina (Mandeep Dhillon), Conradโs daughter, has carved out her own empire in the legitimate business worldโ sheโs surely not opposed to the power that comes with being a blood Harrigan. “She’s 100% driven by power and money. I don’t think she’d ever imagine her life any differently,” Dhillon said of her character.

All the while, Jan Da Souza (Joanne Froggatt) is caught in the crosshairs of her husbandโs line of work, fighting for her marriage in ways that seem to take the backburner in Harryโs list of priorities. โTo Harry, the Harrigans come first. Jan is wondering โwhen do I come first?โ What heโs given her up until now has always been enough. Now, she wants more.โ

Through a meticulously woven narrative with morally complex characters, the series is examining the forces that shape ambition and the consequences that follow in their wake.ย MOBLANDย is now streaming on Paramount+, with new episodes premiering weekly on Sundays through June 1.
