For one night only, Milagro Tequila took over New York City to impact a taste of Mexico.
Last night, we headed over to SHiFT Midtown for a one-of-a-kind guest bartending experience that brought the vibrant energy of Mexico City’s exploding cocktail scene straight to Manhattan.
The event was part of Milagro Tequila’s “Mixing with Mexico” series, an initiative designed to spotlight the talent and spirits coming out of Mexico. For this stop, they brought in the heavy-hitting team behind Long Story Short, an iconic bar famous for its delivery of cocktails and culture through a highly creative menu.

Taking over the bar at SHiFT Midtown, the guest bartenders teamed up with Milagro Tequila Ambassadors Luis Lopez and Stilo Pimentel to develop a menu that showcased Mexican mixology. Using Milagro’s bright, agave-forward lineup as the base, the team built a series of drinks that were layered, complex, and incredibly fresh. It was the perfect demonstration of why Mexico City has ascended to one of the greatest cocktail capitals of the world, with a new generation of bartenders completely redefining what tequila cocktails can look like.
An immediate standout was the B.Y.M. (Backyard Marg), built on Milagro Silver, smoked fig & hoja santa puree, orange liqueur, and fresh lime with a salted rim. It was an elevated take on the classic margarita, with the unexpected depth of the fresh fruit keeping the whole drink incredibly vibrant.
Beyond the world-class drinks, the room itself was packed with the exact kind of high-energy, crowd. With Bar Convent Brooklyn happening this week, the industry energy was already buzzing, but this specific takeover felt like the ultimate way to kick off the festivities.
If you missed out on the one-night-only pop-up, keep an eye on Milagro’s upcoming city stops as they continue to bridge the gap between US cocktail dens and Mexico’s finest. It is well worth tracking down a seat.
