Meeting two of R&B’s most promising rising artists.
Last week, we had the pleasure of attending an incredible dinner hosted by the MNRK Music Group to meet and greet two rising stars, Shantel May and Masio Gunz. We all gathered at the gorgeous Saint Resto Lounge and enjoyed some delicious food with great company.
Shantel May hails from Scarborough, Canada, and recently found success with her breakout single “Love It Here” featuring Lola Brooke. Masio Gunz has been making waves this summer with his new single/video “Panic” featuring R&B sensation Jeremih.

Starting with a glass of champagne, we kept the drinks afloat while we worked through shrimp tacos and cheesy lasagna. Throughout the event, we were able to listen to various people from the media and music industry introduce themselves and their work. After hearing an intimate speech from each of the young artists on what inspired them, we all mingled while listening to their newly released music.
From Shantel, we heard her latest single, “5 Minutes” featuring Tone Stith. The lyrics were intimate and her voice was captivating on this R&B track. With praise from musical legends like Joe Budden and 9th Wonder, it is no wonder her music held the attention of the entire room.
Masio Gunz’s music was of another genre, but nonetheless striking in its own way. He is ready to take the music world by storm with his debut album. Hailing from East Brooklyn, he is ready to make it global with his homegrown talent.
