St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is continuing to find cures and defeat childhood cancer, even amid the coronavirus pandemic and unpredictable holiday shopping season. National Outreach Director, Marlo Thomas, joins ‘The Knockturnal’ to talk about the lifesaving work being done through St. Jude’s ‘Thanks and Giving’ campaign.
“This pandemic doesn’t stop cancer in children and doesn’t stop moms and dads from losing their jobs. It’s even more necessary for America to support St. Jude, which is actually America’s hospital because we take children from all over America. Our research goes to every community laboratories, every community’s hospitals. We really need America to support us this time of year.”
Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Yara Shahidi, Sofia Vergara, Michael Strahan, Luis Fonsi, and more join alongside Marlo Thomas to support the annual campaign.
“We call it the ‘Thanks and Giving’ campaign because it’s a time to look back and reflect on the fact to give thanks for the healthy kids in your life and give to those who are not.”
The children’s research hospital costs nearly $3 million dollars a day to run, Thomas explains.
