The Knockturnal spent the eve of the This Is Us season 3 premiere with America’s favorite TV mom, Mandy Moore at NYC hotspot Tao Downtown.
The actress was in town celebrating her cover of DuJour magazine’s latest fall issue. Along with DuJour publisher Jason Binn and select VIP guests. Millennials will remember that before Moore was the A-list actress she is now, she was singing songs about Candy back in 1999 and had a slew of top charting hits in the early 2000’s. We had the chance to catch up with Moore who teased exclusively to The Knockturnal the possibility of her going back to her musical roots.
The Knockturnal: How does it feel to have music and singing be such an important part in your character’s role?
Mandy Moore: I love it! You’ll have to ask Dan Fogelman if that was his intention. But I’d like to think that I influenced that decision a little bit, but I love that it allows me to dip my toe back in.
The Knocturnal: And are you going to be dipping your toe back in outside the show?
Mandy Moore: I think so. Slowly but surely I’m sort of edging my way back in.
The Knockturnal: And can fans expect to hear something soon?
Mandy Moore: That I don’t know. I don’t have an exact time frame for that, but you know, sooner rather than later I hope.
Presented by Ocean Resort Casino, attendees at the bash enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres like teriyaki chicken, egg roles and cheesecake pops provided by Tao. Later in the night, the actress took the mic and thanked guests for coming and DuJour for letting her do such a fun and fashion forward photo shoot.
