For the first time, the Festival is dedicating spaces to music with a lounge.

This year, the Tribeca Festival is incorporating more than film screenings into their events. For the first time, the Festival is dedicating spaces to music with a lounge. In partnership with Pitchfork, Tribeca Music Lounge was brought to the public in NYC Williamsburg’s popular venue, Baby’s All Right. Performances and intimate conversations regarding music, art and business graced the music lounge last weekend.

“How Long Gone,” a live podcast with Chris Black and Jason Stewart

I had the pleasure of attending two of the following events: “How Long Gone,” a live podcast with Chris Black and Jason Stewart with a follow-up performance by experimental drummer Eli Keszler. The set-up of the lounge allowed the attendees to be invited into the performer’s space. Chris Black and Jason Stewart did a great job in interacting with the audience during the podcast. It felt as if I was watching friends congregate and share stories rather than a formal podcast. Eli Keszler then performed for the crowd, and it was a great follow up.  His music had a calming and peaceful tone to it. The sounds were also authentic and creative.

Overall, the Tribeca Music Lounge should definitely become a permanent addition to the Festival!
