Last night, the Ali Forney Center’s annual fall gala, A Place At The Table was held at Cipriani Wall Street. Honorees included Sam Ratelle, Jason L. Walker, and Kavitha Mathew. Hosting duties were performed by recent Emmy winner, Billy Porter, and Lindsay Lohan was on hand as the special guest for the evening. The event’s co-chairs were Craig Smith and Robert Johnson.
The Ali Forney Center is an organization that fights to assist LGBT homeless individuals. Founded in 2002, the center helps around 1,400 LGBT homeless people each year by offering meals, medical and mental health services, and housing, as well. The mission is to provide LGBT community with housing and services to enable them to thrive and live fulfilled independent lives. Under President Obama, the founder of the Ali Forney Center was recognized as a White House Champion of Change. The largest, and most comprehensive organization of it’s kind, The Ali Forney Center is the leading force combatting LGBT homelessness.
A beautiful event held in the majestic Cipriani Wall Street venue, the evening included speeches and other programming, as well as a delicious dinner and bottle service. Some notable attendees were: Billy Porter, Lindsay Lohan, Dina Lohan, Aliana Lohan, Marc Jacobs, Miss Jay Alexander, Tony Award winner Donna Murphy, Out Magazine’s Phillip Picardi, Orange is the New Black’s Dale Soules, amongst many others.
