After two years, School Spirits Season 2 is ready to bring you an experience of suspense, thrill, and shocking revelations as the plot intensifies.
School Spirits is full of twists and turns as the mystery unravels surrounding how Maddie Nears (Peyton List) died at Split River High School. List returns as Maddie alongside the rest of the original cast, including Kiara Pichardo, who plays Nicole Herrera, one of Maddie’s best friends.
“When we got back we were very much jumping right into it,” Pichardo said. “It was so much fun, it almost felt like a family reunion.”
The finale of Season 1 premiered in 2023, leaving viewers with many questions and theories about what lies ahead for Maddie’s future. However, the suspense wasn’t just for the audience—the cast was also eagerly awaiting the fate of their characters.
“I feel like we are kind of in the same boat as the audience,” Pichardo said. “We don’t get the scripts until a week and a half before we shoot it… we were super excited.”
The eight new episodes follow Maddie as she discovers that her body has been taken over by a Split River High ghost, Janet Hamilton, played by Jess Gabor. Janet’s spirit is now living in Maddie’s body, returning to the living world to reconnect with her past and reclaim the life she always wished for.
Will Maddie be able to take back control of her body from Janet? How will this affect Maddie’s existence in the afterlife? And was she ever truly dead?
Leaving viewers on yet another suspenseful cliffhanger, fans are sure to be eager for a third season. Pichardo mentioned that while it has not been officially confirmed, the cast remains hopeful for a renewal to continue delivering the intense, attention-grabbing series to viewers.
