John Varvatos Returns to NYFW Debuting New Collection for Spring Summer 25 Presentation

It’s a season of ‘new’ at John Varvatos for New York Fashion Week. New owners of the brand and a new creative director at the helm — bringing an all-new vision to the celebrated line that has always helped to define the best of men’s style.

Four years after John Varvatos exited his eponymous line, the company is changing up the game with its first foray back into NYFW. Call it a reintroduction if you will.

And for the first time, the brand is hosting a presentation instead of a more traditional runway show. Giving industry insiders the chance to mingle, as well as get up close with the collection… instead of the quick, dramatic blink-and-you-could-almost-miss-it (especially if you’re half-focused on filming everything on your iPhones) strut of the catwalk.

Both have their place, but the presentation offers guests the chance to touch the fabrics and get a closer look at the new patterns and textures of the clothes, and inherent details of the line of accessories.

Taking over an Upper East Side townhouse just off Central Park, the collection — titled “Kiln & Craft  — was designed by new creative director Karl Aberg. Models were positioned both outside (where attendees could grab a piping hot cup of coffee or VOSS water), as well as inside two levels of the home. Guests thread through the presentation, taking time to behold the new pieces.

So what will be redefining masculinity for spring and summer? Fabrics like linen blends, seersucker, knit polos, and tropical wool cut, along with jacquard patterns and slim (but not overly skinny) fits. Some of the tailored shirts also featured winged collars in a cheeky nod to the 70s.
