Two weeks after the new year, brother-sister duo Jocelyn and Chris Arndt stunned crowds at the Standard Hotel East in celebration of their new upcoming album.
Upon arriving at the hotel, visitors were greeted by a bubbly security guard who swiped up and full elevator of excited music lovers to the Penthouse apartment. When the elevator doors opened, the interior was minimal and white, with floor to ceiling windows to take in the cityscape.
It wasn’t until later in the night that Jocelyn and Chris took the stage. Jocelyn with her kind and animated presence seemed complimentary to her younger brother Chris’s silent and chill vibe. They didn’t waste any time as they delved into their set list beginning with their most recent single release earlier this month, “Be That As It May.” Jocelyn’s powerful and soulful voice and Chris’s retro guitar was reminiscent of 1960’s rock’n’roll. They continued with their other popular songs: “Outta My Head,” “Red Stops Traffic,” “Where’s the Rain,” “Shame,” “Footprints on the Moon,” and “Jagged.” They even shared their mother’s favorite song of theirs, “Bad Business,” a heartbreaking ballad and cautionary tale of heartache. Based on their performance, we eagerly await the drop of their next album.
The evening was presented by Annie O Music Series.
