Jlo lit up the stage for American Idol’s series finale.
Jennifer Lopez’s performance on the American Idol finale let everyone know she’s nobody’s mama. Jlo released the single on Thursday April 7th on iTunes. The release was accompanied with a lyric video on YouTube. The Bronx born singer promoted the single on the series finale of American Idol on Thursday. Mixing the new and the old, Lopez kicked off her performance with “I Ain’t Your Mama,” her new single (written by Meghan Trainor) and then followed up with a high energy rendition of “Let’s Get Loud.” The performance began in black and white and later transitioned to color as a play on a 50s housewife theme. Jlo and her dancers both wore white aprons and headscarves for additional emphasis.
Lopez turned it up a notch as she transitioned into “Let’s Get Loud,” her 2003 hit. Lopez had 2 more costume changes highlighted by a bejeweled purple and sheer bodysuit.
Jlo’s performance marked the series finale of American Idol. The Thursday night staple had a successful 15 season run and produced some of pop music’s most recognizable names such as Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, and Kelly Clarkson. Lopez joined Idol’s panel of judges in 2011 and served as a judge until the show’s finale. You can view the memorable performance below.
