On Monday June 9th TheKnockturnal was present at the French Heritage Society Pre-Summer Solstice Cocktail, hosted by Jean and Martin Shafiroff.
Women in full pastel skirts adorned the spring flowers and French ambiance. The flower patterned fabrics indicated that summer was on its way. The French Heritage Society American chair, Elizabeth Stribling, took the opportunity to tell guests more about the organization, and the upcoming gala on November 18. “We are an American charitable organization that loves France, and promotes the restoration of beautiful places in France, but most importantly those of French inspiration in the United States,” said Stribling.
Guests were encouraged to ask questions regarding the organization, and even how the funds are allocated. Stribling explained how French Heritage Society raises funds and its matching policies. Jean Shafiroff talked about the scholarship program for both French and American architecture students, and the upcoming French Heritage Society Gala on November 18. Guests sampled the delicate hors d’œuvres and were welcomed by the friendly dogs of the house.
