JD Fashion had their debut at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday February 17th, 2016. China’s largest online direct sales company, hosted a runway show at New York Fashion Week to kickoff the launch of its U.S. Fashion Mall which showcased 5 designers. JD.com’s U.S. Fashion Mall is to become the platform of choice 132 million upwardly mobile customers who are increasingly interested in purchasing the latest American fashions from what is regarded as the most reliable e-commerce site in the country.
Following the success of the JD Fashion show during the Milan Fashion Week last fall, JD.com again collaborated with the Milan-based Europe Design Center to develop the “New Romantic” runway theme. The show highlighted five of the most innovative names in Chinese design deserving of a wider platform to share their unique creations with an American audience.
The five designers participating in the show were:
Alice Lee:
Alicia Lee, a Beijing based designer. Her line included ready-to-wear women’s clothing ranging from floral lace ensembles to all-black pieces. Each outfit was complemented with a simple black heel or white sneaker with a furry embellishment.
Ruiping Guo:
The second designer was Ruiping Guo showed her collection, which included cool colors and long dress pieces. Her pieces combine traditional fashion machinery with hand-knit skills.
Chi Zhang:
Third up was Chi Zhang who collaborated with Marvel Comics for these bold looks. The line had a variety of pieces face-masks to bomber jackets.
Gioia Pan:
The fourth designer was Gioia Pan came out with a sleek all black line. The pieces ranged from structured blazers to frilled skirts.
CAHILL+:
Designed by record setting international soccer star Tim Cahill, who currently plays for Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League and the Australian national football team.
