It’s W Times Square for your Next Intermission…
In the middle of Times Square, up and away from the bonanza of sweaty Elmos, aggressive Minnie’s, and selfie-stick laden tourist is a respite, actually an intermission. The newly renovated and cleverly designed Living Room on the 7th floor in the W Times Square is a celebration of the greatest parts of iconic Times Square.
Every night of the week a DJ will be spinning from the New Year’s Eve ball-drop-inspired station compete with a ball replica and countdown clock. Tonight, Krunk Pony keeps the energy up.
The lights are dim to compliment the incredible neon light work showcased behind the bar. The scene features an ode to Fleet Week, burlesque, Broadway, and booze. It’s an historically accurate reminder of a more tenacious and raw era. An extensive cocktail menu offers guests complex drinks named for your favorite parts of the city. Not interested in a bar stool? No problem, booths nestle in coves of privacy big enough for parties of twelve or intimate enough for parties of two.
The walk down memory lane continues on route to the loo, you’ll find a mural which takes you through the decades of the club that used to be here. Once you’re in you’ll find the picture you snapped in the photo booth which is adjacent to the DJ.
It took Josh Held Design and Starwood Hotels about eight months to unveil the revitalized space. With thoughtful design elements around every corner, it was time well spent.
