The season 6 Project Runway Irina Shabayeva set an elegant and unexpected tone at NYFW this season with her SS17 collection. Drawing from her diverse heritage and feminine instincts, the collection was a balance of playful sophistication and true couture.
Featuring rich tones, lace, leather, intricate feather details, the collection took a life of its own. The show consisted mainly of cocktail dresses and accompanied by flowing capes body suits, hats, sky high heels and occasionally classic cat eye sunglasses. Voluminous silhouettes and feather details dominated adding very dramatic elements. Her use of delicate lace details and tailoring paired with wild feather silhouettes left us mesmerized.
