Inside the Fabulous 19th Annual Hamptons Happening

Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation hosted another splendid year out east for a great cause

It was a splendid affair full of scrumptious delights at the 19th Annual Hamptons Happening.

On July 8, hundreds of  guests gathered at the Bridgehampton estate of Ken and Maria Fishel for the spectacular soiree that raises funds to support groundbreaking research funded by the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation, a leading international organization dedicated to eradicating cancer.

The joyful night showcased delicious tastings from dozens of chefs, restaurants, and beverage companies as well as a live auction facilitated by Heritage Auctions.  The crowd went wild with divine tastings from TAO Group Hospitality / Chef Ralph Scamardella, Lavo, Luchini Italian, 317 Main / Chef Eric Levine, A La Mode Ice Cream, Alidoro / Chef John Streep,  Peter Ambrose, Arlotta Food Studio, Bellissima Prosecco & Wine by Christie Brinkley, Bero International, Centro Trattoria and Bar, Chef Harold Moore, Chef Francois Payard, El Turco Hamptons, El Vrano / Chef Julian Medina, FIELDTRIP / Chef JJ Johnson, Herradura Tequila, House of Saturn Café, Lemon Perfect, Magnolia Bakery, North Fork Craft Wines & Spirits, Ovelia Psistaria / Chef Peter Giannakas, Scott’s Protein Balls, Spritz Society, Taco Mahal, T-Bar Steak & Lounge, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Tommy Bahama / Chef Wade Ganache, Woodford Reserve. The VIP Lounge had servings from Chef Meze.

“Since its founding, SWCRF has invested more than $100 million towards collaborative cancer research,” said William T. Sullivan, SWCRF executive director.

SWCRF  presented Chef Ralph Scamardella, EVP and Chief Culinary Officer, Tao Group Hospitality, with this year’s Hospitality and Service Award, Lori and Scott Levine, co-founders of Scott’s Protein Balls, with the Outstanding Product Award, Denise Albert, CEO and co-founder of My Cancer Family, received the Community Service Award, and Anna Zuckerman, Founder and Chief Designer at Anna Zuckerman was this year’s Fashion Cares Award recipient.

VIP Sponsors included Ken & Maria Fishel, Bess Freedman, Brown Harris Stevens,  The Friedman-Rosenthal Team, Scott’s Protein Balls, TAO Group Hospitality, Anna Zuckerman. Gold Sponsor was Theodore A. Rapp Foundation. And Bronze Sponsor was Jay W. Eisenhofer. Supporting Sponsors were Eurostruct Inc., Fabric to Finish, My Cancer Family, Taub Family Companies, Palm Bay International, and Tito’s Vodka. Media Sponsors were Lawlor Media Group, Hamptons Magazine, and James Lane Post. Official Transportation Sponsor was Tote Taxi. Hamptons Happening event is chaired by Mark D. Friedman of Brown Harris Stevens and Jamie Koff, Fabric to Finish with co-chairs Bess Freedman and Bryan Griffin and Journal Chair Erica Fineberg.
