iHeartRadio Music Awards Recognizes This Year’s Greats

iHeartRadio awarded pop’s industry leaders this past Sunday.

The 3rd annual iHeartRadio Music Awards took place this past Sunday April 3rd.  The show awarded some of the industry’s most talented and popular artists in various genres of music.  Chris Brown, Zayn Malik, and DNCE with Nile Rodgers were some of the show’s highly talked-about performances.  Brown sang a four-song medley of songs from his latest album Royalty.  The “Loyal” singer performed “Liquor,” “Back To Sleep,” “Wrist,” and “Anyway.”  Zayn Malik shined in his first solo awards show performance with his new single “Like I Would” from his album Mind of Mine.  Joe Jonas’s band DNCE performed their hit single “Cake By The Ocean,” and then teamed up with rock legend Nile Rodgers to perform “Le Freak.”

Other performers included Meghan Trainor, Fetty Wap, Jason Derulo, Justin Bieber, and Demi Lovato with Brad Paisely performing her new single “Stone Cold.”  Winners The Weeknd, Maroon 5, and Pitbull also performed along with G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha.

Seasoned vets such as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Drake won multiple accolades including Best Female Artist, Best Fan Army, and Best Hip-Hop Artist.  Newcomers Twenty One Pilots won for Best Alternative Rock Artist of the Year and Best Alternative Rock Song of the Year with “Stressed Out.”  Adele, Bruno Mars, and the Foo Fighters were also some of the nights more notable winners.  This year’s awards were held at Forum in Los Angeles, California.  Swift garnered the highest number of nominations with 8 while The Weeknd followed in close second with 6.
