Drake, Big Sean, and Jhene Aiko make this a week to remember.
New releases this week from Drake and Big Sean include new singles and a new album. Drake released two singles from his anticipated Views From The 6 album. “Pop Style” and “One Dance” will join the “Jumpman” singer’s “Summer Sixteen” on his new album due out this month. The singer announced the releases yesterday (April 5th) via his Twitter account. “One Dance” features Nigerian artist Wizkid and Filipino singer-songwriter Kyla while “Pop Style” features hip-hop veterans Jay Z and Kanye West as “The Throne.” The songs are not available to stream yet, but can be purchased on iTunes. “Pop Style” can also be purchased on Tidal.
“One Dance” is a sultry dance tune with an island flair. The essence is similar to Drake’s “Better Find Your Love” but more upbeat. “Pop Style” is reminiscent of the smooth flow Drake is known for.
In addition, Big Sean and Jhene Aiko released their collaborative album Twenty88 on Friday (April 1st). According to a Tidal press release the LP “tells the story of the highs and lows of a relationship.” This is not the first collaboration between the two. The “Post To Be” singer was first featured on Big Sean’s single “Beware in 2013. Aiko was also featured on the rapper’s most recent release Dark Sky Paradise.
The album features 8 tracks that delve into the trials and tribulations of love. The short but, oh so sweet, collab was initially available for streaming on Tidal, but is now available for purchase on iTunes as well.
