A sexy burlesque performance filled with dazzling and interactive performances!

Located in the renowned McKittrick Hotel, home to the award-winning interactive theatrical performance “Sleep No More,” Hypnotique offers a captivating burlesque show with expert choreography and a sexy twist.

The whole hypnotizing experience started before we even entered the performance area. Entering the unassuming entrance for Gallow Green (a delicious restaurant and bar), we took a vintage elevator that leads to a similarly vintage style into the ticket booth. From there, stairs led us up to the lush green covered patio of the restaurant that is a garden oasis in the bustling skyline of Manhattan.

You are greeted by the hostess and shown the hidden speakeasy entrance marked with a red LED cupcake sign. All guests had complimentary coat checks, where we were asked to check our phones and digital cameras.

The performance takes place in the Club Car room of the hotel, where the lights are low and drinks are flowing. If you happen to arrive a little early, the place might just feel like a regular New York City night club, with great music and delicious drinks. The only difference being that you will be immediately drawn to the male dancers’ introductory dances.

The show is standing room only, but two small tables are available for those who prefer to sit. However, following the performers around the room is the most fun and interactive way to enjoy the show.

As for the performances itself, the show is filled with amazing music scores, the most talented showgirls and dancers, and uniquely choreographed theatrical numbers. Between the costume and set changes, the one-and-a-half-hour show passed by in a trance. Created in collaboration by Emursive, and directed and choreographed by Whitney Sprayberry, the dance numbers were both impressive and meaningful, making the entire show feel like a series of individual stories filled with sultry burlesque tease.

Creative director Reginald Robson’s sound design and MD Silvio Pacini’s turntables combined with the costume design by David Quinn, embody the driving force behind the “hypnotic” aspect of the show. Audiences are left surprised, entertained, and wanting more.
