HBO Max celebrated the return of House of the Dragon Season 3 with a one-night-only “Dragon Solstice” event at The Rooftop at Pier 17 on June 21 with special cast guest, Harry Collet.
Held on the summer solstice, the waterfront celebration welcomed more than 1,000 fans, creators, and tastemakers. Guests gathered for the exclusive season premiere screening and activations with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline.
The evening featured live music and immersive entertainment inspired by Westeros. Mister Sunday opened the festivities with an energetic DJ set. Cast member Harry Collett, who plays Jacaerys Velaryon, later took over the decks. Following the screening, Collett took center stage once again. He cut a massive House of the Dragon-themed cake with a sword. Before the celebration ended, he shared an emotional farewell to his character. He thanked fans for their support over the years. The heartfelt moment drew loud cheers from the audience.

The screening itself was one of the night’s highlights. The audience remained locked in from start to finish. Throughout the screening, gasps filled the venue during major moments. In addition, screams erupted throughout several shocking scenes. Emotional storylines also hit hard. The reactions showed just how invested fans remain in the world of Westeros.
Beyond the screening, attendees also received exclusive themed merchandise. Fans took home blankets, hats, shirts, and other collectibles. On top of that, the giveaways added another special touch to the experience. Many guests proudly wore their new gear throughout the evening while taking activation photos. All drinks were themed and snacks were passed.

Meanwhile, additional activations took place across New York City. Fans boarded VIP Targaryen-themed sail experiences at Pier 17. There, the experiences were hosted by Baby Love in Rhaenyra Targaryen drag. Earlier in the day, the Iron Throne appeared at Madison Square Garden. There, Harry Collett joined New York Knicks players for photos and fan moments.
Overall, the Dragon Solstice event successfully brought Westeros to New York City. The combination of live entertainment, exclusive content, and fan giveaways created a memorable experience. Most importantly, the passionate audience proved that excitement for the series remains as strong as ever. Now that the season has premiered, fans can look forward to new episodes each week. House of the Dragon Season 3 debuted on June 21 and will continue through the August 9 finale.
