Breaking News: the Rum Room at Mr. Purple in LES is the place to be this season and is here to fulfill all of your Summer rooftop needs!
This swanky, tropical oasis was the perfect kick-off to the recent Governors Ball Festival, supplying no shortage of dangerously delicious cocktails such as the “Gov Ball Punch”, made with BACARDĺ Coconut Rum, passion fruit, lime, and club soda or my personal favorite of the evening, the “Six Thousand” – a blend of BACARDĺ Añejo Cuatro Rum, lime, pineapple, orange, coconut water, and orange bitters.
As part of the trendy and massive festival, BACARDĺ Rum and IHG Hotels and Resorts came together earlier this month to bring out good people and even better vibes for an unforgettable weekend.
The tunes and buzz amongst the crowd could be heard just before stepping off of the elevator into the Rum Room. The venue was beautifully decked out with golden-painted palm tree plants, a luxurious full bar, and set off with striking skyline views as a backdrop.
Even the summery cocktails were adorned with miniature golden-flecked palms which added a special touch to the evening’s theme.
Music was provided by the one and only Major League DJz, and Niara Sterling who had the entire rooftop partying all from happy hour straight into the sunset.
While many may not have been able to tell based on skills alone, this was Major League DJz first partnership in the United States! Major League DJz consists of twin brothers who hail from South Africa, and clearly know how to bring the tunes with them everywhere they go.
No need to let the FOMO set in if you missed this dynamic duo, as their set performance can be found on the BACARDĺ YouTube channel!
Of course, in between all of the dancing and mingling, I made sure to sample some of the passed hors d’oeuvre which included a little something for everyone, especially the vegan and vegetarian options.
I, fortunately, had the pleasure of attending this amazing event at the lavish Mr. Purple, but you too can get in on all the fun this Summer by heading on down to Hotel Indigo at 180 Orchard Street!
Do make sure you grab a drink and catch the golden hour for a truly memorable night.
