An incredible evening showcasing some delicious cocktails from Glenmorangie
Glenmorangie has recently unveiled their newest limited experience called, A Tale of Forest. This expression has amazing notes of fruit like pear and apricot, a bit of smoke to it, with touches of pine and oak which are all synonymous to a forest experience. To celebrate this latest expression, Glenmorangie hosted an incredibly party at Governor’s Island. As guests were transported from the ferry station to the island, they were met with a huge barge with the Glenmorangie brand on it. And when arriving at the venue, this Governor’s Island space was covered in foliage and fauna and felt like you guests were transported to a mystical forest.
Throughout the night, guests were able to experience a variety of specialty cocktails featuring the latest expression. There were innovative takes on classics like the Old Fashioned and a Hot Toddy while also creating some unique cocktails like their Bilberry Warmer made with A Tale of Forest, warm Bilberry tonic, maple syrup, topped with cream, and served warm. Our favorite cocktail of the night was called Lost In The Woods and was made with Lasanta 12 Year, Monin Gingerbread Syrup, Vanilla Syrup, Lemon Juice, and an egg white. This drink tasted like Christmas in a cup and was the perfect cocktail to enjoy throughout the night. At the midpoint of the evening, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden gave a quick speech on the inception of this new expression and walked guests through the notes they should experience with this whisky. Once the speech was done, guests did a cheers with a glass of the whisky straight. And for those that don’t typically enjoy whisky straight, this new expression was one that might be easier to handle and a great intro to the whisky tasting world.
Chloe Flower
Also in attendance was Austin Millz who was spinning tunes and livening the party up. And towards the end of the night, there was a special performance by recording artist Chloe Flower who played songs on the piano live, both from her latest album and songs that have charted high in the past few years. Her rendition of “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish was one of the coolest takes on the song and got the crowd’s energy booming once she hit that chorus. The night ended a bit after with guests heading back to the ferry and going back to NYC land. The night was an incredible experience that showcased the latest whisky expression beautifully.
