Fashion and lifestyle magazine ‘Galore’ is putting together its first-ever feminism-based festival featuring prominent women leaders.
With keynote speaker Tyra Banks and performers Willow Smith, Chloe and Halle, Snoh Aalegra, Leaf, Sevyn Streeter, and more, GIRL CULT aims to empower women of all cultures and backgrounds. The festival is geared specifically towards the Generation Z women that predominantly read Galore.
Editors-in-Chief of Galore Price Chenoa and Jacob Dekat said that felt they had a responsibility to encourage young women to express themselves and feel empowered since they struggle with many of the same adversities as gay men.
“We are excited to launch GIRL CULT for women in Los Angeles and beyond,” they said. “We yearned to create a music festival that felt very inclusive to all women, especially with everything going on with women’s rights in today’s climate.”
Each artist involved in the festival will be speaking on personal topics that aim to touch the audience’s soul and inspire female power. It will be “a day of dancing, discussion, and female empowerment,” according to the festival’s mission statement on their website.
The festival will be taking place on Sunday, August 20 at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles. Tickets can be purchased online here.
