La Factoría, the iconic Old San Juan bar ranked among the World’s 50 Best Bars, brought its renowned “run-down chic” aesthetic and Boricua hospitality to New York City for a vibrant one-night takeover at UNTITLED at 3 Freeman Alley.
Presented by Discover Puerto Rico, the experience celebrated the spirited intersection of cultures between Puerto Rico’s colorful heritage and the artistic, graffiti-coated energy of the Lower East Side. Much like the winding streets of Old San Juan, guests were invited to explore multiple levels of the UNTITLED hotel, with surprises waiting around every corner.
From the moment guests entered through the tucked-away entrance off Bowery, the vibe was electric. The takeover began on the ground floor and journeyed to the rooftop at UNLISTED Rooftop, where tropical beats met panoramic skyline views. In a hidden garden enclave, live musicians delivered soul-stirring Latin music, setting the tone for a night where every space told a story.
Behind the bar, La Factoría Co-Owner Roberto Berdecia and mixologist Ottoniel Mendez treated guests to the bar’s most iconic cocktails, bold, balanced, and full of flair. Every sip was a celebration of Puerto Rican artistry.
Throughout the night, guests indulged in flavors inspired by both Colombia and Puerto Rico, danced to tropical house sets by La Factoría’s own DJ, and mingled with NYC’s tastemakers and creatives. From the secret garden to the rooftop, each level pulsed with music, conversation, and creativity.
The hospitality from the UNTITLED staff was second to none—seamlessly blending service with soul. This wasn’t just a guest shift; it was a cultural immersion, a celebration of two iconic cities whose spirit lives in their walls, drinks, and sounds.
For artists, photographers, and nightlife lovers, this collaboration was a masterclass in experiential curation—where each turn offered something unexpected. UNTITLED continues to be a hidden gem for creatives, and with La Factoría in the mix, it became something truly unforgettable.
Highlights as a musician, I really appreciated the Live Latin musicians in the garden, as people sat at the tables enjoying the weather and conversation. I may have the honor of having Signature cocktails by Roberto Berdecia & Ottoniel Mende and enjoy a DJ set with tropical flair, and of course, the luxurious Rooftop views, live art, and immersive ambiance. This collaboration proved that magic happens when legends unite across borders. If you missed it, keep an eye on both La Factoría’s and UNTITLED’s socials—because moments like these don’t stay secret for long. Thank you again for an incredible time in this amazing city.
