Global lifestyle brand, French Bull, has a lot to celebrate. Their first-ever luggage launch will be sold exclusively at Target and on Target.com. French Bull is known for injecting color and design into goods that are typically overlooked and monochrome such as crock pots and pots/pans. They have now jumped into the luggage category. The line is colorful, fun and so different from what is currently in the market.
Founder Jackie Shapiro has never met a blank surface she didn’t like. She sees them as opportunities, as designs waiting to happen. A pluralist muralist, she eyes lazy susans and duvet covers as objects in need of her art. A gleeful graffitist, she hears serving trays and bedroom slippers crying out for a tag.
She also wears a lot of hats: CEO, BFF, mother of fierce offspring, better-half to designer/musician/partner husband, co-feeder of Dash the loyal house bulldog. She currently lives in Connecticut and works out of a design studio in Manhattan.
French Bull launched its first products in 2002. Since then it has expanded its line into five core areas: Flatware, such as dinner plates, salad bowls, trays, cups, bowls, napkins, runners etc.; Home entertaining (ice buckets, Lazy Susans, serving platters); Baby products (bowls, plate and spoon gift sets, baby trays with lids, sippy cups); and children’s products (everyday plates, bowls and juice cups).
