On Monday, November 7, Fox held an event promoting their new series 24: Legacy, at the Crosby Street Hotel in downtown Manhattan. The event consisted of a screening of the series premiere, followed by cocktails and appetizers. Several cast members and producers were present.
Cast member Miranda Otto introduced the episode, saying “the cast and I are really excited […]. We’re super proud of what we’ve done […] and cannot wait to show the whole world after the Super Bowl […]. It’s a really great honor to be a part of the 24 franchise […]. This is the best iteration yet!” She thanked the crowd for coming “tonight, of all nights” (it was the night before election day), and described the pilot as “a little escapism” to some audience laughter. Co-star Pat Bucatinsky chimed in with “None of this could really happen!” to more laughter.
After the screening, I spoke with cast member Ashley Thomas. I asked what 24 fans could expect from this season. He said to expect “suspense, major, super plot twists, [and] a lot of action.” He described the show as having as having “a new generation of characters, [while being] set in the same universe as the original.” When asked about potential cameos from characters from the original series, he said, “look out for them!”
24: Legacy premieres on Fox after Super Bowl LI on Sunday, February 5, 2017.
