Back-to-school shopping has a way of creeping up on you before you know it.And whether you’re nine or 19, it’s important to get a head start on your supply haul. Here’s five items from Five Below to add to your shopping list, from writing aids to dorm decor. And, of course, they’re $5 and under.

  1. Mini Shaped Stapler ($3.00)

It’s hard to forget your usual pens, pencils and highlighters, but a stapler is often overlooked. Add one to your pencil case and beat the line at the library or front of the class when it’s time to turn in a packet. You might even make a friend or two having one on hand!

  2. 18-Month 2024-2025 Student Planner ($5.00)

To start your school year off on a high note, get organized! Throw a planner in your backpack so you never miss a due date. Online calendars can be helpful, but there’s nothing like old-fashioned pen and paper to keep your memory sharp.

  3. Silicone Snack Containers 3-Pack ($4.00)

Being on campus all day can build an appetite. Save yourself a trip to the vending machine or dining hall by storing your own snacks in one of these containers. These silicone snack holders are both microwave and dishwasher safe, making it a perfect pick for any food you want to transport.

  4. Wish Hand Sanitizer ($3.00)

Hand sanitizer is one of those things you don’t miss until you realize you don’t have it. These spray sanitizers are compact enough to fit in your pencil case, and convenient enough to be used on-the-go wherever you are, whether it’s a classroom, cafeteria or on your commute. The last thing you want is to get sick and fall behind on your schoolwork…

  5. Clear Desktop Riser ($5.00)

If your assignments are all digital, there’s a chance you’ll feel some discomfort craning your neck to see your laptop screen. Mitigate some of that strain by investing in a desktop riser, perfect for when you want to do work in your dorm or your kitchen counter. When you’re not typing away at your computer, the riser can double as storage or an additional workspace.
