The new science-fiction movie from Luc Besson is already in the works and here is the first look.
The director of The Fifth Element and Lucy, Luc Besson, is directing a sci-fi film based on a 1967 comic book by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières – Valérian and Laureline by many considered an ancestor to Star Wars saga.
Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets tells a story of two space special operatives for the government of the human territories. Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevigne) are in charge of maintaining an order throughout the universe. There’s a romantic particle to their relationship as Valerian’s constantly chasing Laureline, despite her time after time rejecting him. Clive Owen, in the role of a Commander directs the duo to embark for a mission to an intergalactic city of Alpha, which comprises over a thousand species from all corners of the universe. Even though Alpha’s multimillion population was able to unite and work together on the betterment of all, someone or something is plotting against its unity and by that threatening the safety of the entire race.
Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets, produced by Luc Besson and Virginie Besson-Silla, is set for release in July 2017. On screen we will see performances by Ethan Hawke (Before Sunset), Rihanna (Battleship), John Goodman (Argo), Herbie Hancock, Kris Wu and more.
