“The Overnight” is the best comedy movie you’ll see.
An added bonus is Adam Scott and Jason Schwartzman have full frontal nude scenes in the film as they play hilarious characters. Also starring Orange is the New Black’s Taylor Schilling and French actress Judith Godrèche, the film was written and directed by Patrick Brice and takes you on an amazing well written comedy turns and is full of dramatic suspense.
Alex (Scott) and Emily (Schilling) just moved with their five year old son to California from Seattle, and while at the park, they run into Kurt (Schwartzman) and his son. Kurt invites them over to his house as a welcoming to the neighborhood and they take him up on the offer that night. Within minutes they meet Charlotte (Godrèche), Kurt’s wife and proceed to get high and drink.
The real comedy gem is when things get raunchy and suddenly the whole foursome . . . Well let’s leave things at that. Wearing nothing but prosthetic penises to cover up their real ones, both Jason and Adam wowed audiences as they jumped around and danced. What brings every single comedic element of this already brilliant idea together is the fact that there’s nothing serious, there’s no plot involved, there’s nothing that has to move it along.
But that’s the best part! Because there’s no ulterior motive in a sense, it’s just people getting high and running around naked. The whole movie takes place over one night and there’s something about it’s simplicity that makes it all the more worthwhile and enjoyable. The fact that they shot it in ten days plus that they go on a trip to get more alcohol while they’re already well stocked at home and even multiple paintings of butt holes are featured – it becomes such a memorable movie that you can’t help but watch laugh all throughout the film.
The movie is an absolute must see and you need to make sure to leave the kids at home, but bring the child in you there. There’s so much going on in the film, you will be hooked from the start.
