Lead Rowan Atkinson plays lovable spy Johnny English who leaves his retirement teaching job, on the command of the British Prime Minister (Emma Thompson), and returns with a passion for a new spy adventure.
Britain is relying on him to find the cyber-attack culprit, as English is one of the only MI6 agents whose identity hasn’t been compromised. He teams up with old partner Bough (Ben Miller) and hits the South of France to trace his targets.
What Atkinson delivers is a likable performance and character for every audience to enjoy as he struggles to overcome new changes in modern technology. The movie guarantees audience laughs from all ages as Johnny English takes funny and unusual tracks to complete each mission. The script is written brilliantly for a PG-rated comedy and has been filmed with a high-def, clean, and modern vision.
Johnny English Strikes Again is filled with funny spy etiquette, 007 puns, and charm. It’s a feel-good comedy complete with a millionaire tech villain (Jake Lacey), a possible love interest (Olga Kurylenko), and lots of new and intriguing spy gadgets.
Atkison continues to break his comedic barriers, letting loose, dancing, and continuing to play a lovable character made to bring entertainment and joy to children and adults watching.
If you’re looking for a good time with family, filled with laughs and spy lessons (not to be taken too seriously or tried at home), Johnny English Strikes Again is a perfect flick for a theater getaway.
The movie is set to release in theaters October 26th and has reportedly earned $82 million in advance of its opening weekend.
